The Art Of Contact Killing

Copper was the first metal to be extracted by mankind. It is the first metal to be alloyed. After the Stone Age, Copper became the best friend for mankind. Many civilizations started its journey depending on Copper and its alloys.

No metal knows mankind more than Copper, as the metal started its journey along mankind for long. No metal is conscious about human health like Copper does, as it kills any pathogens comes on its way.

Recent studies proves that most pathogens (bacteria, viruses) won’t survive on Copper surface for long time. This was not a new knowledge to mankind. Our ancestors knows this and used copper or its alloyed utensils for storing water, cooking, etc. Its proven scientifically only a few decades back.

In England, a microbiology researcher named Keevil (Univesity of Southampton), a man who studied the antimicrobial properties of Copper for more than twenty years, researched with many bacteria’s and viruses like MERS, H1N1, etc using copper surfaces. And to his surprise Copper eliminated those pathogens within minutes.

In the year 2015, he started research on Coronavirus 229E, where again Copper gained the upper hand by eliminating within minutes, while they survive for days in surfaces like stainless steel and glass. He also noticed that, even Copper surfaces installed 100 years ago has the same properties like new copper surfaces.

Don’t know how, but for thousands of years, our ancestors used Copper as a remedy to prevent diseases, even before the terms of germs and viruses began to use.

The Indians, Egyptians, Chinese and many ancient medical practitioners have immense knowledge in antimicrobial properties of Copper.
