The Exquisite Dasavatara Vilakku: Vishnu's Ten Incarnations in Brass | Tamrata

 

The Sanskrit word avatar means incarnations and Dasavatara means the ‘Ten Incarnations’. The Dasavatara Vilakku or Dashavathara Hanging Lamp is one of the prestigious products selling through Tamrata. The ten incarnations include:

  5. Vamana: A Brahmin who tricked the powerful king Mahabali into living in the underworld.
  6. Parashurama: A sage with an axe who ended the tyranny of the Kshatriyas.
  7. Rama: A human who defeated the demon king Ravana.
  8. Balarama: A significant deity in the Jagannath tradition.
  9. Krishna: Who killed the tyrannical ruler Kamsa and guided the Pandavas in the Mahabharata.
  10. Kalki: A future avatar who will end the rule of the demon Kali when evil forces peak.

The lamp has a bottom diameter of 15 cm with 33 cm lamp height and 50 cm long chain.
